Over the last three decades, Sankalp’s socio-economic interventions have reached close to 33870+ beneficiaries and close to 7500+ households. We do this through systematic and well-planned education, health, community development, and women empowerment programmes.
Sankalp’s work contributes to 9 out of 17 SDGs set by the United Nations.
Established In 1983, Sankalp is a community and tribal rights-centric not-for-profit Organisation. Sankalp primarily works with the Sahariya tribe in Shahabad and Kishanganj block of Baran district, Rajasthan. Sankalp works for the socio-economic emancipation of the highly vulnerable Sahariya Adivasi community through various community outreach programmes and grassroots-level interventions. Sankalp believes that working on community health and education issues, specifically among women and youth of Sahariya tribes, are critical for the community to be empowered.
Sankalp’s objective is to work for education, promote awareness, and build a sustainable livelihood. We believe in interaction and cooperation with various stakeholders to emancipate the most marginalised section. The objective of the Sankalp is to recognise the agency and value of the most excluded Sahariya community. Sankalp means ‘determination or a commitment’, and the organisation has lived up to its name for ages.
